The state of the beach disgusted her.

“As a local, I would like to enjoy our beaches but instead I find myself picking up other people's rubbish and putting it in the bin week after week,” she said.

“This behaviour by visitors has got to stop.”

She is happy to share the beach with others but just wants people to do the right thing.

“It is not okay for these visitors to leave all their trash here on the beach which consists of food containers, cigarette packets, cans, bottles, bottle tops and wipes, alcohol and soft drink,” she said.

“Why do they do it? They have no respect for the land or the people that live here.”

Then there is an issue of dog owners not cleaning up after their pets.

“I have a dog and he is my best friend but I don't want to constantly be walking on poo on the beach,” she said.

“I never realised how bad it was until my dog sniffed it all out while I looked on in horror.

“I even saw dog poo rolling in the waves. Needless to say, I didn’t enjoy a swim that day.

“Why can't dog owners clean up after their dog?”

The local resident asked not be named because of what happened when she confronted a dog owner.

“I helpfully told the owner where his dog had run off too – it was into an area where the dog should not have been,” she said

“Obvious signs are everywhere saying it was a prohibited area for dogs along the creek.

“I wasn't going to say anything to him. He is a visitor and he may have had a good reason as to why the dog ran away from him.

“Yet he got all high and mighty about another issue and he was threatening and abusive to me.

“I explained that the least he could do was have his dog on a leash as it had nearly knocked me down while it was running down the path to the creek.

“I said my balance wasn't good due to a medical condition. He said what a load of crap and again verbally abused me.

“I was outraged at this and my depression and anxiety have been very bad since.”

She just wants a people to do the right thing by the environment and to show some consideration to others.
