A Worrigee man who crashed his car into a light pole on the Princes Highway at South Nowra has pleaded guilty to high-range drink driving and negligent driving.

Deon Craig Whitby, 40, was driving a Nissan Navara utility south on the Princes Highway at South Nowra at 11.13pm on February 10, when he lost control on roundabout at the intersection of Hillcrest Avenue, skidded across the road and collided with the light pole on the eastern kerb.
The metal light pole was knocked to the ground, and his vehicle suffered considerable damage, yet Whitby attempted to drive away, coming to a stop about 50 metres further south.
He returned a positive breath test and later a breath reading of 0.202.
The matters will be back in court on March 19.
