A Falls Creek woman who pleaded guilty to receiving more than $50,000 in Cenrtrelink payments she wasn’t entitled to has been ordered to repay the money and perform community service.

Bernadette Lee Theobald, 44, pleaded guilty to two counts of receiving financial advantage from a Commonwealth entity.
Court papers stated Theobald failed to declare income to Centrelink between June 2011 and November 2014 and December 2015 and July 2016, during which time she was also accessing the Newstart Allowance.
Court papers said during that time she had been employed on various occasions by the Royal Freemasons Benevolent Institute, Serco Sodexo and Woolworths.
Court papers revealed she received payments totalling $50,192.72.
Department of Human Services documents state between June 2011 and November 2014, she received more than $44,000 and from December 2015 and July 2016 she received more than $6000.
Magistrate Gabriel Fleming ordered Theobald perform 10 months’ community service and that she repay $50,192.72.
