North Nowra Public School took a colourful approach to supporting an important community event last week.
The students, teachers and staff went purple and yellow for a mufti day to raise money for the Shoalhaven/Nowra Relay for Life – a Cancer Council event.
North Nowra Public School has a team called NNPS Staff in the relay.
Tarnya Viney, team captain and teacher at North Nowra Public School, organised the staff to be a part of this year’s relay, which is to be held at Nowra Showground from March 24 to 25.
As cancer touches the lives of so many around them, the staff at the school chose to show their support by walking the relay and also by holding a purple and yellow mufti day at their school. The mufti day raised $196.00 at first count.
The school's principal, Peter Wright-Smith, who was absent on the mufti day, is a big supporter of the relay and will be walking with staff at this years event.
If you would like to support the NNPS Staff Relay team or any other team participating in the relay you can do so by visiting the Relay for Life website at www.relayforlife.org.au/get-involved/donate/.
People can also still sign up for the relay and are encouraged to attend the event and walk some laps.
