Keynote speaker Heather Hawkins shared a personal story about overcoming ovarian cancer and making positive change after the life-threatening situation
“I realised how precious life was and wanted to share encouragement with other women,” Mrs Hawkins said.
“I’ve been doing ultra marathons and marathons in extreme locations like the North Pole.
“My life has taken a whole new journey.
“I didn’t do any exercise before I was diagnose.
“Going through that experience I wanted to be as fit and healthy as possible, and give my body the best chance of survival.”
Gilmore MP Ann Sudmalis, Shoalhaven mayor Amanda Findley and Shoalhaven councillors Nina Cheyne and Joanna Gash were all in attendance.
