The growing list of maintenance needs at South Coast public schools’ has been reduced by almost $1.5 million.

Important work was completed by the state government during their “summer blitz” on existing roofing, flooring, painting and other maintenance projects.
Member for South Coast Shelley Hancock welcomed the improvement in local school facilities due to the record investment while inspecting the completed works at Nowra East Public School.
“I am pleased to see the NSW Government delivering these important works for South Coast schools,” she said.
“Just like your family home, there are always jobs to be done to keep our schools in top condition.
“We made good use of the summer break to carry out important projects while students were on holidays.”
Nowra East Public saw an investment of close to $700,000 to carry out roofing, painting and flooring on a number of their school blocks.
Mrs Hancock said classrooms at the school now enjoy improved drainage and ventilation and teachers and students came back from holiday to a refreshed school.
While, Nowra High School’s list was reduced by $157,796, Terara Public School by $149,713, Shoalhaven High School by $145,205, Nowra Public School by $132,681, and Tomerong Public School by $75,827.
“Providing high-quality school facilities is vital to give our children the education they need and deserve. These works ensure we’re providing those facilities,” Mrs Hancock said.
“Every child deserves to have access to great facilities, wonderful teachers and get an excellent education and that is what we are delivering for students here on the South Coast.”
