Shoalhaven Eisteddfod committee president George Windsor clarified the organisation is not seeking double its usual donation of $6800 from Shoalhaven City Council, as reported in the agenda for the strategy and assets committee meeting.

Rather, Eisteddfod conveners were looking for the opportunity to talk to staff and council about ongoing costs.
“We felt council needed to know we were struggling to meet venue costs,” Mr Windsor said.
Mr Windsor penned a letter to council on November 4, and council prepared a recommendation without responding to him.
“I had no indication at all it had come up at council until it was mentioned by the South Coast Register,” he said.
The recommendation was deferred last night at the strategy and assets committee meeting, until councillors and staff meet with eisteddfod committee members.
