The first team to take the field was the Steelers Harold Matthews side, which includes Albion Park-Oak Flats trio Joshua Coric, Harley Nizza and Cooper Tunbridge, along with Milton-Ulladulla’s Riley Wooden.

Behind tries from Riley Wooden (two), Jordan Karakousis (two), Tyrone Roberts and Talatau Amone, as well as goals from Tyrone Roberts (three) and Talatau Amone (one), the Steelers ran out winners 34-16.

Next up was the Tarsha Gale (under 18s women’s side, which contains Group Seven products Rhiannon Brown (Bomaderry), Dakotah Mannering (Bomaderry), Bronte Girdler (Stingrays) and Hannah England (Batemans Bay/Milton-Ulladulla).

The women were never troubled, winning 50-20, with Keeley Davis (two), Maddison Weatherall (two), Mikalya Kidd (two), Rhiannon Brown, Emily Andrews, Chantelle Newman and Abby Holmes scoring four-pointers.

The final match of the day saw the Jono Dallas and Matt O’Brien coached SG Ball side defeat Souths 26-14.

The side, which includes Group Seven juniors Jack Walsh (Albion Park-Oak Flats), Tarje Whitford (Milton-Ulladulla), Blake Dowel (Warilla-Lake South) and Samuel Hooper (Warilla-Lake South), made it two wins from as many starts behind tries from Jayden Sullivan (two), Zach Herring, Jack Walsh and Mathew Feagai.

In the third round of action, all three undefeated sides will put their 2-0 record to the test.

Harold Matthews will battle the Sydney Roosters from 10am at Henson Park on Saturday, with the SG Ball side following at 11.30am against the same opponent.

Differently, the Tarsha Gale women take on the Sydney Indigenous Academy side from 1pm at Henson Park.
