In a post on Facebook this week, the company's Australia and New Zealand president and managing director Sharon Plant said it would close operations on both sides of the Tasman by the end of the year.
After ‘thorough deliberation’ on performance, selling conditions and potential for growth, the decision was made to exit the markets.

"This is a very sad day for our employees and representatives,” she said.
“As a management team our commitment and focus over the coming days, weeks and months is to support our people and the wider Avon community who are impacted by this decision,"
"I would like to thank all the employees, Representatives and Customers who have supported Avon's business over the years."
The company said it has US$10 billion in annual revenue around the world. It is sold through more than six million independent sales representatives.
