A roundabout in South Nowra connecting Flinders Road and Albatross Road that was due to be finished in late October will be completed next week, four months after its initial due date.
The works being undertaken include the completion of concrete median islands, crossings, access ramps, aprons, footpaths and AC on the roadway.
Shoalhaven City Council explained a number of factors caused the 25-week delay.
Delays in gas relocation - 5 days.
Unsuitable subgrade - 2 days.
Inclement weather - 10 days.
Road rehabilitation - 20 days.
Delays in power relocation approval - 80 days (continuing).
Shutdown over Christmas period – 11 days.
The secondary roundabout, planned for the service road currently in use, is due to be finished by the end of April.
The removal of existing power poles may delay some aspects of the works.
Changed traffic conditions will be operating for the duration of works.
