Former South Coast Register journalist Russ Quinn managed to film what he said was a 2.5-metre white pointer shark as it swam past his jetski, which was being driving by his brother Adam Quinn.
After a few minutes of sniffing the ocean floor, and without any indication or effort, it took off like a fully-charged Tesla and disappeared into the deep.

Their dad John Quinn also witnessed the event on Thursday, January 25 at Five Mile Beach, Bherwerre.
“We were surfing in the middle of Five Mile Beach when we saw the DPI Shark chopper circling over an area about 200 metres away, so we went to take a look,” Russ Quinn said.
“Sure enough there was a 2.5-metre white pointer darting around chasing fish.
“We’ve seen a few bronze whalers before but it was epic to see the ocean’s primary predator up close.
“The speed of this thing was insane. After a few minutes of sniffing the ocean floor, and without any indication or effort, it took off like a fully-charged Tesla and disappeared into the deep."
