The clinic will be held this Thursday, January 25 at Greenwell Point from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
This initiative is part of the Fishing for the Future Program and is funded through the NSW Recreational Fishing Trust.
The Koori Kids Holiday Fishing Clinic is run in partnership with the NSW Department of Primary Industries (Recreational and Indigenous Fisheries), Nowra Youth Centre and South Coast police.
More than 300 Aboriginal children from the Illawarra and Shoalhaven areas have already participated in the Fishing for the Future Program, including the Cops and Koori Kids Fishing Workshops, Holiday Fishing Clinics and an intensive two-day Leadership / Fishing Program.
Children taking part in the fishing clinic will be getting fishing tips on catching key fish species in local estuaries, learning about catch and release and going fishing.
The guided fishing experience will happen between 10am and 12pm..
