If you are retired or semi retired, join U3A and enrol in some of the sessions on the Term 1 program, which runs from Monday, February 12 to Friday, April 6.
U3A (University of the Third Age) provides an opportunity to continue learning in a relaxed, supportive and social environment.
Membership is $1 to join and $10 a year plus a modest fee for each session or course.
New this term are courses in Italian for Beginners and Art and the Creative Experience.
Learning a language and exploring your creative potential are highly desirable activities to help maintain mental health and well-being.
Also new is a Staying Strong program that teaches the fundamentals of Pilates and Technology. Nowra High senior students will assist U3A members to better understand and make use of electronic devices.
There are excursions to a seaside walk in Sydney, the Hindu temple at Helensburgh and further afield on the Garden Lovers Tours in NSW and Victoria.
Regular programs include the Lunch Club, the Movie Club, French and German language courses, and a variety of History and Travel sessions.
The program offers an amazing variety with sessions in Science, Opera, Music Appreciation, Health, Mosaics, Philosophy and Current Affairs.
Enrolment days are Thursday, February 1 and Friday, February 2.
Enrolments may also be posted or left in the U3A mailbox inside the entrance to 48 Berry Street Nowra (opposite the Roxy theatre).
