A great white shark was detected off Sussex Inlet by the Department of Primary Industries at around 11am today.

Evacuation was not necessary.
The beach was already closed, due to rough surf conditions, and no one was in the water, so the 2.7m shark didn’t cause any trouble.
The shark sighting was reported on the ‘SharkSmart’ Twitter feed.
