Thanks to well-known Shoalhaven local Barry Faulks, who has provided us with a copy of the South Coast Register from that period we can do just that.
And it certainly makes for some interesting reading.
It featured the recent State election results and the implications for South Coast independent John Hatton and a great photo of the late Bernie Regan and his wife Jan at the Bomaderry Cricket Club fancy dress presentation, dressed as Uncle Sam and Cleopatra.
The paper also had photos of a number of local faces and a wonderful array of advertisements, which will bring back a lot of memories for long- time residents.
Mr Faulks also showed a copy of another Register edition from January 1993 which will also be appearing on our website in coming weeks.
He also had a superb calendar produced by the South Coast Register in 1928.
It featured 14 stunning photographs of around the region with photos from Nowra, Berry, Kangaroo Valley, Berry Mountain, Jamberoo, Kiama, Albion Park and even Wollongong.
The changes in some of the areas is remarkable.
