NSW experienced its hottest year ever.
Nowra’s average maximum temperature was .7 degrees Celsius higher in 2017.
The hottest day was January 30, where the thermometer hit 43.2 degrees, slightly lower than Nowra’s record maximum temperature of 45.4 degrees.
In a February heatwave, 40 dairy cows died in the Shoalhaven.
Nowra was not only hotter, but drier, in 2017.
On average, 972.9mm of rain falls on Nowra each year, but last year we saw 856.8mm, with three months of significantly low rainfall – July (4.2mm), September (.2mm) and October (6mm).
