Also known as The Mentals, the band whose hits include The Nips Are Getting Bigger, Come Around, Just Like Romeo and Juliet, Too Many Times, If You Leave Me Can I Come Too, Spirit Got Lost and Live It Up, started off as art students in the mid-1970s.
They caught the attention of a record label and their song The Nips Are Getting Bigger became their first hit in 1979.
It was the first of many which took the band into the mid ’90s with Mr Natural.
Mental As Anything, with its two original lead vocalists Martin Plaza and Greedy Smith, is still touring and playing garage pop.
The band has had hits around the world and sold more records in Germany than Australia.
In 2009 Mental As Anything was inducted into the Australian Record Industry Association's Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame.
Tickets for the gig are $25 and available from the club reception – phone 4443 0666.
