The group’s pet of the week always gets hearts fluttering around the office so we caught up with some of the year’s furry friends to find out who found their fur-ever home.
Without further ado, here are a few of this year’s happy endings.
Bertie
Bertie is a six-year-old male Spoodle who required long term medical care.
Bertie was adopted a lovely older gentleman who just loves him to bits and he is very happy in his new home.
His new owner keeps in touch with his carer and lets the AWL know how he is going.
Dudley
Dudley found a wonderful new home with a very active couple.
He loves getting out and about; and “thinks” he should be the co-pilot.
Patch
Patch is a Fox Terrier cross Chihuahua and it proved to be a little tricky to find the perfect home for as he is quite the escape artist.
Patch finally found his perfect match and is now too busy to worry about getting out.
He enjoys walks on the beach twice a day.
Charlie
Charlie is a 10-year-old miniature poodle who came back into the care of AWL after losing his elderly owner.
He has now found a wonderful new home, with a lovely couple, and has two poodle siblings for company.
Tilly
Tilly came to care of AWL as a kitten suffering from malnutrition and had medical problems due to her rough start in life.
With proper care Tilly improved greatly and found a home with a lovely lady who was quite happy to see past her disability and just see the lovely kitten she is.
Butternut
Butternut came into the care AWL at just four days old. He had to be bottle fed as his mother was no longer around.
Butternut had a very rough start to life and had inherited worms from his mother in the womb, but was too small for regular worming treatments. This meants his growth was quite stunted and it was touch and go for a little while.
Butternut is quite the little Aussie battler though and is now 13 weeks old.
He is finally catching up growth wise to other kittens his age.
Butternut is quite the snuggle bug and loves to cuddle up on his carers lap for naps. When he cuddling he spend his waking hours playing chasing games with the dog.
Shoalhaven Animal Welfare is only able to do the work it does with the help of their dedicated carers.
The team are always on the look out for more carers. For information on how you can help call Mary on 0429 429 885.
