A 44-year-old man found at Culburra Beach with more than 230 items of child abuse material including photographs and videos has been jailed for 15 months.

Robert John Bickerstaff pleaded guilty to possessing child abuse material and using a carriage service to access child pornogrpahy in Nowra District Court,
A number of the images and videos showed prepubescent girls performing various sexual acts with adult men and animals.
Court papers said the offences occurred between May 5, 2016 and February 3, 2017 at Culburra Beach.
Australian Federal Police were alerted to Bickerstaff’s activities by the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children [NCMEC] in February that a Yahoo Messenger user had uploaded 16 child pornography images between June 2016 and January 2017.
It was revealed in September last year he had uploaded child pornography images from the same internet prefix, again using Messenger.
AFP officers executed a search warrant on the Culburra Beach property on March 16 this year, finding a number of images and videos on a computer, USB and micro SD card,
Officers also seized his mobile phone which included his Skype communications which indicated his child poprnogrpahy sharing activities.
Officers found 27 items of child pornography had been uploaded onto a carriage service, including 20 images and seven videos.
They also discovered a cache of child abuse material including 230 images and four videos.
Judge Dina Yehia sentenced Bickerstaff to 15 months’ jail from December 13 with a non-parole period of six months. If released at that time he is then to enter into a nine-month $500 recognisance bond.
