The Nowra Anglican College student donated $118 to the Children’s Ward at Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital recently.
Lily spent two terms earning the dollars.
“I babysit my neighbor's babies for a gold coin donation and I helped the mums with their babies,” she said.
While she put in many hours, it was work Lily enjoyed.
“I love babies, they’re very cute and cuddly and fun to play with,” she said.
Instead of keeping the money to spend during the school holidays, Lily decided to put it to good use.
“I thought it would be better off giving it to people who would benefit from it, rather than keeping it for myself,” she said.
Lily plans to keep babysitting and raising money for local charities.
Shoalhaven Hospital staff held a special afternoon tea on Wednesday, December 6 to thank Lily for her efforts.
