The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for heavy rainfall and abnormally high tides across parts of the South Coast.

The alert – for an area spanning from Nowra to Narooma – has been prompted by a deepening trough near the NSW coast.
The coastal trough is expected to bring periods of heavy rain to the southern NSW coast on Monday and Tuesday.
“Rainfall may be enhanced on a local scale by the development of small low pressure circulations within the trough, and thunderstorm activity,” the bureau said.
Heavy rain, which may lead to flash flooding is possible in coastal areas between Nowra and Narooma from Monday afternoon until Tuesday afternoon.
Locations which may be affected include Huskisson, Ulladulla, Batemans Bay and Moruya Heads.
“24 hour rain totals in excess of 100mm are likely, with the bulk of this forecast to fall at night,” the bureau said.
“Water levels could reach or exceed the highest tide of the year during high tide tonight [Monday] and on Tuesday morning.”
High tide is expected between 9pm and 10pm on Monday and then between 9am and 10am on Tuesday.
An updated severe weather warning is expected to be issued by 5pm.
