Police have seized prohibited drugs, tobacco, prescription drugs and even ammunition during an operation at the South Nowra Jail.

Officers from Shoalhaven Local Area Command and NSW Corrective Services conducted the joint operation at the South Coast Correctional Centre on The Links Road at South Nowra about 8am on Sunday (December 3).
During the operation 19 people and nine vehicles were searched, resulting in the seizure of prohibited drugs and tobacco, along with ammunition and prescription drugs.
Ten people were issued court attendance notices for offences including - bringing contraband into place of detention; bringing drug into place of detention; driving while cancelled; and possessing a prescribed restricted substance.
All those issued court notices are due to appear at Nowra Local Court on January 15 next year.
