Launching her annual Mayor’s Christmas Giving Box at Stockland Nowra on Thursday afternoon, she encouraged the community to donate presents gifts as an act of kindness to charities in the Shoalhaven.
Gifts should be for a male or female and the approximate age bracket that it is for. Gifts can be for all age brackets.
Gifts can be left at Stockland Nowra in the Mayor’s Gift Box near Santa Claus or at council administration buildings in Nowra and Ulladulla, libraries or the Shoalhaven Art Centre.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to help another person this Christmas who needs some cheer,” Cr Findley said.
“I encourage all families to get involved and donate a gift to the appeal. Christmas is a time of reflecting on how fortunate we are, the sharing of good memories, appreciating others and the joy of giving. Please join me in helping make the festive season special for others in our community.
“During this time of year, many people are experiencing financial stress and through the Giving Box you are helping many members of the family cope with Christmas.”
Charities that will be supported include Salt Ministries and Cullunghutti Aboriginal Child and Family Centre.
