Police from Shoalhaven Local Area Command’s Target Arrest Group (TAG), assisted by general duties officers targeted stealing from supermarkets and retail stores in the Nowra CBD and Stocklands Nowra on November 29.
Police were assisted by loss prevention officers from two supermarkets and a retail store during the one day operation.
A total of 27 people were detected committing offences during the operation, the majority being issued legal process for stealing from a retail store.
Other offences included resisting and assaulting police in the execution of their duty and drug possession.
Police charged 10 people, issued eight juvenile cautions and 12 criminal infringement notices.
Twenty-six people were also searched during the operation.
These types of operations target theft from retail stores in the CBDs in the Shoalhaven area will be ongoing.
