Maddison made his first public appearance on the “water bike” at Cockle Bay on Darling Harbour as part of the Sydney Motorcycle Show last weekend.
Local Glenn “Grub” Tyson was up in Sydney and captured some great footage of Maddison putting on his show.
“It’s a very strange sight to see someone riding a motorbike around Darling Harbour,” Tyson said “but it’s pretty awesome.
“And when it’s a local bloke, well that’s even better again.”
Maddison’s exploits gained plenty of media attention, even featuring on one of the high rating breakfast television shows ahead of the weekend event.
Last week a select group witnessed the freestyle motocross superstar take to the Shoalhaven River on his bike, making a number of journeys out onto the waterway in preparations for last weekend's show.
“I had to do a bit of fine tuning ahead of the weekend so took the bike, which is a fully registered watercraft, out onto the river and did a few loops, Maddison said.
“It was great to be able to do it in my local area in front of family and friends. For many of them it was the first time they have actually seen me do it live. That was pretty cool.”
“The looks on the kids’ faces, the excitement and fist pumping when I took the bike onto the water was incredible.”
