Shoalhaven City Council fined the restaurant $880 for breaching the NSW Food Standards Code, and handed them a penalty notice in August.
The breach was disclosed on the NSW Food Authority website this week.
Council declared the restaurant had failed to maintain the food premises to the required standard of cleanliness.
Council’s Environmental Health Officers had raised concerns about cleanliness of the Bamboo River Restaurant’s kitchen at previous inspections.
The restaurant, part of Vincentia Golf Club, has since endeavoured to improve health standards.
A number of catering staff were sacked after the findings were presented to restaurant management.
Vincentia Golf Club marketing and promotions manager Luke Hodges ensured customers the restaurant has rectified any problems.
“The club, in conjunction with the food services contract caterer The Bamboo River Restaurant, have taken immediate steps to rectify the issues identified by the food authority,” he said.
“The catering team employed by our contractor at that time were subsequently removed, and replaced by a new team that immediately returned the kitchen to an exceptional level of cleanliness.
“As a result of the finding, we increased the management supervision over our contractors to ensure the highest standards are met not only for the Food Authority, but also our members and guests.”
Council officers have since inspected the premises, found it satisfactory, and have pledged to keep a close eye on the restaurant to see that regular cleaning is made a priority.
