The facade renovation was detailed and extensive with a view to upholding the buildings heritage well into the future.
Roxy general manager Mel Rose and owner Bob Brainwood were meticulous about the details that would preserve the building against the elements as well keeping it true to its art deco heritage.
The result has been well received by the community, the feedback being most patrons love the new look.
The Roxy is a heritage-listed building and required a lot of work behind-the-scenes to preserve it for the future. That included a fresh colour scheme, improved waterproofing, weatherproofing the upper windows, signage, new doors. One example of the extra effort included having the original brass door handles polished back to their golden lustre. Restoring the front of the building is just the beginning, we can more to come in the future of the Roxy.
