The Nowra Kmart launched its Christmas appeal in aid of the Salvation Army on Wednesday.
Nowra store manager Jason Bingham launched the 2017 appeal in front of a large crowd, including children from Kids Korner who also staged a performance.
With the Nowra Salvation Army band performing in the background, Mr Bingham said the company was proud to support the Salvation Army.
“Thirty years is a great achievement and something we are proud of,” he said.
Nowra Salvation Army Lieutenant Matthew Sutcliffe thanked Kmart for its ongoing support.
“Over those 30 years tens of thousands of Christmas gifts have been given away across the country through this support,” he said.
“We can’t thank Kmart enough. It’s great to be able to bring a little joy to some people who may be doing it tough, especially at Christmas.”
The Wishing Tree Appeal is located at the front of the Stockland Nowra Kmart store.
“Last year we distributed 2000 toys locally,” Lt Sutcliffe said.
“We helped 200 local families,. That’s about 1000 people.
“It allows everyone to enjoy the spirit of Christmas.”
This year’s appeal runs from November 15 until Christmas eve.
