Berry-Shoalhaven Heads defeat Ulladulla United on the road

BERRY-Shoalhaven Heads have bounced back from their first loss of the season, with a strong performance against Ulladulla United at Lighthouse Oval.

The hosts won the toss and elected to bat, making 166 from their 42 overs at the crease.

The pick of the batsmen for United were Wes Holmes (44), Edward Neaves (27), Mark Allsopp (27) and Joel Turner (26)

With the ball, Glenn Brandon was the star, claiming 4/22, while Chris McCarron and Dylan Cosgrove finished with two scalps – with Tom Dougall and Jack Gibbs taking one each.

In reply, the Magpies, despite falling to 2/21, cruised to victory after 37 overs, reaching the target (7/169) with three wickets in hand.

Dale Lovatt (36 not out) and Daniel Troy (31 not out) top scored for the visitors, with Nathan Thomas chipped in 26.

With the ball, Connor Hawkins (4/37) and Joel Turner (2/23) led the way for United.
