Police attempted to stop the motorcycle on Nineveh Close about 2.40pm on Friday, after it was earlier spotted being ridden in a dangerous manner.
Police said the motorcycle failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated, which continued for about a minute before the driver entered a ravine, fell off the motorcycle and fled on foot.
The bike was found to be stolen.
The 17-year-old was eventually captured and taken to Nowra Police Station, before being taken to Shoalhaven Hospital for assessment and blood and urine tests.
Once he was released from hospital he was conveyed to Nowra Police Station and charged with police pursuit; drive manner dangerous; goods in custody; dive unlicensed; and drive conveyance without consent of owner.
He was refused bail to appear at a children’s court on Saturday, November 4.
