Mr Jones claimed that 70 HMAS Albatross jobs are under threat, claims that Mrs Sudmalis has refuted.
“The Member for Whitlam needs to apologise for misleading the public and parliament,” she said.
“I have confidential material directly from defence that refutes Labor’s claims about job losses at HMAS Albatross.
“Defence have advised that there will not be job losses.
“Any future changes to employment at Albatross are due to the completion of programs and staff contracts attached to the programs that will be re-appropriated to new or existing programs.
“The Member for Whitlam and Labor have resorted to a smear campaign loaded with lies, it is absolutely outrageous."
The South Coast Register contacted defence minister Marise Payne on Wednesday morning, who is yet to confirm or deny Mrs Sudmalis’ statement that there will not be job losses at HMAS Albatross.
