WHILE the Kinghorn Motors first grade side enjoyed the bye after Nowra withdrew from first grade, their other teams had mixed results on day one of the first two day fixture for 2017/18.

Ella Bache second grade vs Nowra at Nowra Showground: got off to the perfect start in the field when they had Nowra reeling at 7/56 thanks to Anthony Johnston, Stu Jeffrey and Justin Ganderton and new captain, Matt Bell (3/28). Unfortunately Bomaderry couldn't capitalise on the start as Nowra scrapped to a total of 118. Nowra continued the ascendancy when they took the ball, as Bomaderry couldn't manage to put together any partnership of any substance, being all out for 50. Bomaderry will now chase an outright result in week two.

Kel Campbell third grade vs Nowra at Bomaderry Sporting Complex: have already grabbed first innings points in a strong display on day one of their match. Club stalwart Don Kennedy ripped the heart out of Nowra's batting line up with 5/42, dismissing Nowra for 128. In response Bomaderry set up a strong lead heading into day two, finishing day one on 3/150, thanks to a captain’s knock by Ethan Adlington (48 not out) and contributions from Adam Darby (44) and Jack Pritchett (39 not out).

Bomaderry Super Cellars fourth grade vs Ulladulla at Lighthouse Oval: have a big chase on their hands leading into day two, as Ulladulla posted the strong total of 209. Club stalwart Gary Evans starred with 5/31 from his 14 overs. Bomaderry had 11 overs to face in the afternoon and made a strong start in their chase finishing at 0/21, with two of the experienced heads, Doug Abbott and Terry Whelan, at the crease.

Jaffa Images u16s vs Ulladulla: Ulladulla won the toss and elected to bat on a field that can only be described as a lightning fast outfield, managing an score of 3/217 with the Tigers only wicket takers being Jacob Higgins (1/29) and Matt Rayner (1/30). Day two should prove for a good chase for the Tigers.

Precision Dent Removals u11s vs Ulladulla: Bomaderry batted first and with four out of the six boys playing their first ever game and managed a solid score of 10/89, for a net total of 49. Beau Lynch and Casey Laylor both managed to top score with 15 each. In return, Ulladulla scoref 7/108 for a net total of 80 to take the win. The pick of the bowlers was Finn Beech with 1/11 off four overs closely followed by Beau Lynch with 1/13. Casey Laylor took out the player of the week.

Bomaderry Bowling Club u12s had the bye.
