Both Tyler Wright and Sally Fitzgibbons are eying off a spot in the final of this World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour (CT) event.
Fitzgibbons, in the semi-final on Wednesday, will take on triple world champion Carissa Moore, while Wright is against another American, Lakey Peterson.
Fitzgibbons who has clearly re-grouped after a semi-final finish in Cascais and she is so close to her first-ever world title that she can practically taste it.
Still happily wearing the Jeep Leader's' yellow jersey in Hossegor, Fitzgibbons beat Bianca Buitendag in their quarter-final match-up.
Wright in her quarter-final was up Malia Manuel, who is on a redemption run after missing half the season due to injury and an early loss at Lower Trestles.
Wright, who has had a seemingly miraculous, if tenuous, recovery from her MCL tear, is not letting go of her title run just yet.
Wright, on the back of a round two exit last week, is pushing herself to the bitter end in France with a strong show of determination.
