Shoalhaven Cricket Association life member David Sloan headed the organisation when they fought off the introduction of a user pays system in 2001.
“This has come up once before, there was a massive backlash,” Mr Sloan said.
“It's taken a good decade to repair the trust and establish a good working relationship.
“I can’t believe it’s coming up again.
“Council better prepare itself for a massive fight against the sporting community.”
The motion was defeated by one vote in 2001, and three Shoalhaven councillors against the tax then, including Bob Proudfoot, Andrew Guile and Greg Watson, have indicated they will vote against the tax when it’s raised again.
