Obstacool, an obstacle course for children aged over four years and accompanying adults will be in town on Saturday, October 28.
The fundraising event for Nowra Public School will be held between 9am and 3pm. Six, forty-five minute waves will start each hour. Each wave can have up to 100 people participate.
There are 600 tickets available. Tickets are $15 for kids and $10 for adults.
All funds raised from this event will be donated to the school through the P&C Committee.
After the event, the P&C will decide where the funds will be channelled.
“This year we have already raised $10,000 and donated it to the school to build two outdoor learning environments, one on each site, and last year the P&C donated $10,000 to the school to purchase air conditioning for some of the class rooms,” P&C representative Beck Jamieson said.
Beck said the P&C is hoping for strong community support.
“We are aware that it is the same day as the River Festival and hope that both events can run without affecting each other,” she said.
“We are trying to promote family fun and togetherness along with family fitness with this event.
“I have personally participated in a previous Obstacool event that was held last year in Wollongong and I had an amazing time with my daughter.
“I found that every parent involved had as much fun as the kids and it was a great environment for families and a great way to spend time with your kids.”
There will also be a jumping castle on the day for children too young to participate in the obstacle course.
No-one will go home hungry, with plenty of food vendors including Sam’e’spresso (coffee and cakes), Dutch Pancakes, Jack Shackles Mobile Food Van (Southern American Style Food), and Mr Whippy on hand to whip up delicious treats.
The P&C will also be running a a sausage sizzle.
There will also be a raffle with plenty of great prizes up for grabs. Tickets are 50 cents each and can be bought from JayJays in Stocklands Nowra, Amy of Niche Massage in Worrigee or from students as of next term.
