Twelve years on the annual Pink Shoalhaven event has raised more than $65,000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, helping them reach their goal of zero breast cancer deaths by 2030.
This year’s event will be held on Saturday, October 28 from 7.30am at the Bomaderry Bowling Club.
Carla has a fundraising target in sights.
“We’ve raised over $65,000 since the beginning and this year we hope to crack the $85,000 goal as a team effort,” she said.
“We hope to have upwards of 150 people join us for breakfast.”
This year’s theme is ‘Pink Op Shop’.
“Everyone can support their local vinnies or salvos and get dressed up in fabulous outfits and have a bit of fun,” Carla said.
There will be raffles, lucky door prizes, best dressed, best table and more.
While there will be no shortage of fun and games, Carla said the event also raises much-needed awareness.
“Women and men need to be vigilant about their health and our guest speakers do a great job of getting this message across,” she said.
“Amongst all of the pink fun there is a deadly serious cause. We know that we are doing our bit to help the National Breast Cancer Foundation achieve its goals.
“Come solo, with a friend or gather a group together. Everyone is welcome”
Carla said Pink Shoalhaven is made up of local men and women and receives strong support from the Shoalhaven business community.
Tickets to the Big Pink Breakfast are $30 for adults and $16 for children and can be bought from Kerry’s Klothes in the Darrell Lea arcade in Nowra.
