The 18-year-old was convicted in Nowra Children’s Court to three counts of driving while disqualified, two counts of aggravated break and enter, two counts of dishonestly obtaining property by deception and two counts of taking a vehicle without consent of the owner.
The court heard the youth put $30 worth of petrol into his car at the Shoalhaven Ethanol Fuel Service Station in Kinghorn Street, Nowra on February 3 this year before driving off.
He was also charged with taking and driving a vehicle, aggravated break and enter in company and driving while disqualified following a break-in at a Leonard Street home in Bomaderry with another man in February where a 2014 KTM Superduke motorbike worth $22,000 was stolen.
Magistrate David Williams ordered the 18-year-old be jailed for 18-months with a non-parole period of 10 months.
He will be eligible for release in March next year.
Magistrate Williams also disqualified him from driving for two years.
The teenager will also be back in court on November 9 to face charges of possessing an unregistered firearm relating to an alleged break-in at a Nowra home in December 2013 where an air rifle was allegedly found in the backyard leaning against the home.
