Elton John tickets, parking, traffic, food and everything else you need to know for the Wollongong concert

Souvenir tickets for the September 24 event are already being processed, printed and mailed out to recipients by Ticketmaster.

If fans are yet to receive their hologram tickets by seven days prior they should contact Ticketmaster, a spokeswoman for the Wollongong office said.

WHAT TIME DO GATES OPEN

Gates open at WIN Stadium (46 Harbour Street) at 4pm with the support act to start playing at 5:30pm.

Sir Elton John will take to the stage at 6:30pm.

WHO IS THE SUPPORT ACT

Queensland folk/roots duo Busby Marou have been hand picked to open for Elton who has an interest in new and up-and-coming artists.

WHAT WILL ELTON SING

Going by previous concerts this year, it’s expected the megastar will perform around 22 hits from his 50-year career.

“Bennie and the Jets”, “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting” and “Candle In The Wind” seem certain to be included in the list.

WHERE IS ELTON STAYING

Unfortunately Sir Elton John is flying in on a rented helicopter shortly before the show, then flying out again.

Concert promoter Michael Chugg said the star’s demands weren’t too extravagant though he does require thousands of dollars worth of flowers in his dressing room.

WHERE CAN I GET FOOD

Eatery’s around Wollongong are certain to be full of hungry Elton fans.

Wollongong Central’s P3 Car Park is the official car park, though taking public transport is advised.

DROP-OFF/PICK-UP POINTS

A drop off zone will be in operation on Burelli Street between Harbour and Corrimal Streets. Access to this area of the precinct at the conclusion of the event may be limited, and patrons are asked to be patient.

TAXIS

A taxi rank is located across the road from WIN Stadium outside the Steelers Club on Burelli Street. There is also an additional taxi rank located adjacent to WIN Entertainment Centre on the corner of Crown & Harbour Streets.

Meantime UBER is now available in Wollongong.

ROAD CLOSURES

The following road closures will be in place for the concert: - Harbour Street, North bound (between Stewart & Burelli Street) - Harbour Street, South bound (between Burelli & Crown Street) - Quilkey Place (access road behind WIN Entertainment Centre

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE

WIN Stadium is a NON-SMOKING venue.

ATM’s are located inside all public gates (Gate A,C and D).

Pass outs will be available from any of the public gates.

Cloakroom facilities will NOT be available.

The box office (located at Harbour/Burelli Street) will be open from 2pm for pre-paid ticket collections.

Food and drinks are available on-site.

MOBILITY RESTRICTED ACCESS

For the mobility-impaired, WIN Stadium offers ease of access through external entry gates (all at ground level with no steps).

Limited accessible parking is located in Stewart Street East carpark, however must be reserved pre-event through Ticketmaster on 02 4220 2884.
