Send them to Nowra Library where a new collection of books specifically for dyslexic people has been launched.
The new collection of books features a font designed to allow people living with dyslexia to read more easily.
People with dyslexia often swap, rotate and flip letters without noticing, as some letters are too similar to each other for them to tell apart.
Graphic designer Christian Boer, who has dyslexia, developed award-winning conversion technology when he found a new font that improved his reading life.
The font has been designed so that every letter is unique in its own form, allowing existing books to be reformatted using the font quickly and easily.
Christian found that using the font counters the rotation, flipping and reversal of the letters.
The technology and font minimises the apparent fusion of letters because they are too close to each other and also uses other techniques to assist with reading.
Nowra and Ulladulla Libraries will house the collection of books, available in multiple formats, with an initial collection of more than 250 junior and youth titles.
Usage of these collections will be monitored, with the view to introduce adult titles in the future.
