A time capsule buried 37 years ago has been dug up, as part of the school’s upcoming 50th anniversary.
While the contents were a little waterlogged, they’ve been restored library staff and will be in display the school’s open day on Friday, September 15.
The school is also gearing up to host a party on Saturday, September 16 at Bomaderry Bowling Club.
Past students, teachers and friends of Bomaderry High are all invited to enjoy a three course meal, entertainment, celebration cake and speeches.
This night will provide everyone with the opportunity to catch up with old friends and celebrate some great times over the years.
Tickets are still available and able to be purchased here. Tickets are $60 per person.
As well as the dinner, the school will also be open to the public on September 15 from 11am until 12.30pm with activities to include school tours, static displays and tasty food and refreshments, followed by a special assembly for the school community and special guests.
Proceedings include the time capsule reveals, student performances and a Rock Eisteddfod showcase.
The school would like to hear from community members of BHS, particularly historical information about the establishment of the school and the many success stories over the years.
These can be submitted to the school or the Facebook page, 50YEARSBHS.
Friends of Bomaderry High School are encouraged to sign up for notifications and stories from the last 50 years at either the Facebook page www.facebook.com/50YEARSBHS/ or email 50YEARSBHS@gmail.com
