Last week Shoalhaven Police held an emotional farewell for the former coordinator of the YWCA Nowra Domestic Violence Intervention Service, Ms Davies.
For 12 years Ms Davies was the driving force behind the “ground breaking” service which has continually been identified as the benchmark in dealing with domestic violence and its victims.
One domestic violence survivor Kate (surname withheld) said Ms Davies saved her life and guided her to safety.
Kate wants Ms Davies to come back and fears for the people trying to deal with the horror of domestic violence now that one of their strongest advocates can no longer assist them.
See Kate’s glowing, strong and emotional tribute below.
The South Coast Register has made numerous attempts to contact the YWCA to get more information.
The first one was made on July 5 and the last one was on August 23.
We continue to wait for a reply.
Shoalhaven Police get at least one domestic violence call a day – see below.
