Following the under 17 state challenge in Coffs Harbour from August 18-20, Phillips will for the second consecutive year travel to Brisbane to contest the under 17 National Championships in September.
“The state challenge was great this year,” said Phillips.
“The conditions were good for this time of year and the competition was tough.
“I played well, got a number of wickets, some runs and took a few catches, which I was pleased about.”
Phillips, who last season claimed his second consecutive Shoalhaven District Junior Cricket Association player of the year award, is stoked be given another chance to prove himself at this level.
“I’m over the moon to make the ACT/NSW side again – I thought it was a once in a lifetime opportunity, so to get to go again is great,” he said.
“I expect a high standard of competition as we are playing against the best in Australia.
“Also I expect to be quite sore after eight days of cricket - it will definitely help having experienced the nationals before, as I will have a better idea of what to expect this time around.”
