The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, held in 600 cities around the world, will parade through Milton, Ulladulla and Mollymook to raise money and awareness of prostate cancer and male suicide prevention.
Bikers from throughout the Shoalhaven, including Berry’s John MacDonald who will ride a vintage Indian motorcycle, will take part in the ride.
Narrawallee resident Peter Percy is organising the local event and is keen to get “everyone” involved.
“It started with one ride in Sydney five years ago,” he said.
“I have always had motorbikes and I was looking on the web one day and saw a bunch of hipsters running around on nice motorbikes.
“I checked it out and thought ‘wouldn’t it be great if we could bring this to Ulladulla’.
“This is as good as anywhere in the world that I have been.”
Mr Percy said men, and women, would need to dress in dapper clothing and have a bike that fits the event’s style guide.
“I will be riding on a 600 Ducati Pantah,” he said.
“It is a Desmo Drive, which is the first of that style of motor that was bought in. It is a classic and a collector’s item.
“It is open to women as well, although it is a male charity that we are raising money for.
“I am really keen to get everyone involved.”
Starting at the Coffee Guild in Milton, Mr Percy said the ride would showcase the area.
“It is not a race around town, it is a parade to show off a few old motorbikes and a few hipster guys and girls,” he said.
“We are going to give this area a promote.
“I have traveled to most countries in the world and I live here and think this would have to be one of the best countries to live.”
About 20 people had already registered for the inaugural Ulladulla event.
