A Bomaderry man who pleaded guilty to possessing of a prohibited weapon and having items suspected of being stolen has been placed on a good behavior bond and ordered to perform community service.

Nowra Local Court heard Benjamin Allan Brereton, 24, was already on a good behaviour bond for a variety of offences at the time on this latest incident on February 2.
Police allegedly stopped Brereton’s car for a random breath test and discovered a black extendable baton.
He told police he had the prohibited weapon “for his protection”.
He was also wearing a pair of Nike shoes which police believed to be stolen.
Court papers said Brereton gave differing versions of where he got the shoes.
He had been placed on a 18-month bond for a variety of charges including possessing prohibited drugs, methylamphetamine and ecstasy, having goods suspected of being stolen and possessing a prohibited weapon a set of knuckle dusters.
Magistrate Gabriel Fleming placed Brereton on a 12-month good behaviour bond, order he perform 30 hours of community service and be under the supervision of community corrections for 10 months.
