The perfectly shaped banks delivered super fun waves in the head high range for the four quarter-finals.
Bowen, a goody footer, kept the ball rolling in his quarter-final against countryman Quinn Bryce.
His 4.83 and 8.00 (12.83 total) proved enough to defeat Bryce, who was eliminated for wave interference, after only recording a 5.73 to his name.
"There were a lot of opportunities out there - I was lucky I pulled out an old faithful board that Parrish Byrne shaped me and it held nice and strong and felt good," Bowen said.
"I had a plan to surf strong and stuck to it, and I guess that's what the judges wanted to see."
Bowen will now take on France’s Gatien Delahaye in his semi-final, while France’s Marc Lacomare and Guadeloupe’s Timothee Bisso will battle in the other semi-final of the World Surf League (WSL) Qualifying Series (QS) 1,500 event.
