GERROA’s Dean Bowen has continued his strong World Surf League (WSL) Qualifying Series (QS) season by progressing to round five of the Caraïbos Lacanau Pro.

At the men’s QS 1,500 event at Grande Plage, Lacanau, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France, Bowen scored 6.77 and 7.83 (14.60 total) in his round four heat – defeating French Polynesia’s Ariihoe Tefaafana, Peru’s Alonso Correa and Brazil’s Yuri Goncalves.
Bowen will now take on Spain’s Gony Zubizarreta, Brazil’s Messias Felix and Puerto Rico’s Miguel Blanco in round five’s heat five.
The Werri Beach Boardrider is currently ranked 143rd in the 2017 QS leaderboard, thanks to seven QS heat wins and an average heat score of 11.47.
