Huskisson’s James Crilly has spent the past two weeks in Shoalhaven Hospital, nursing a broken shoulder and immobile due to Parkinson’s complications.
On doctor’s orders, Mr Crilly won’t be leaving hospital on Sunday.
Determined to follow through on his commitment, he had hoped to cover the 21km track in a wheelchair.
However, on Thursday morning he was advised by medical staff that he will not be released from hospital.
Devastated by the news, Mr Crilly thanked Jervis Bay businesses who had pledged support for the cause, and planned to donate prizes for the raffle.
