The two bikes, a 2012 Yamaha WR450F and a 2001 Honda XR250 were stolen from a family home in Waldegrave Crescent between 1.30am and 4.30am.
The Yamaha has since been recovered at Dubbo, while the Honda is believed to still be in the local area. It was last seen being ridden in Worrigee.
Both bikes were chained at the time the theft, with the thieves leaving behind a Yamaha Peewee 50 motorbike.
It is understood the Yamaha was loaded onto a locally hired Hilux utility, which was later seen at the Archer Hotel car park in Nowra.
Some quick thinking hotel patrons recognised the bike and when confronted the alleged thief threatened two men with a tomahawk, before leaving the area.
The Yamaha was found by police at Dubbo, with the owner recovering it earlier this month.
A reward has been offered for the recovery of the Honda bike.
Any with any information asked to contact Nowra Police on 4421 9699 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
