The body of a man has been found on a popular beach on the NSW Central Coast.

The body was found lying on the beach at The Entrance about 7am on Monday and police set up a crime scene.
However, police said later the death was not suspicious.
"While yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be a 40-year-old man from Surry Hills," a police spokeswoman told AAP.
