The Dragons come into the round 23 match on the back of four losses, two byes and only one victory – including a two-point loss to the Titans in round 17.
But Gillard knows his team, who still sit in third on the National Youth Competition ladder, are primed to turn their fortunes around.
“We are planning on turning it around by working harder on our defence and playing as a team,” Gillard said.
“Personally, I think my performance have been okay so far, but there is always room for improvement – which starts this weekend.
“The plan to defeating the Gold Coast is playing hard and fast footy, and playing the whole 80 minutes without clocking off at all during the game – if we do that, I know we can win.”
The Wayne Collins’ coached side also contains fellow Group 7 products Jackson Ford (Gerringong), Reuben Garrick (Gerringong), Josh Dowel (Warilla-Lake South), Jayden Morgan (Albion Park-Oak Flats), Tom Angel (Kiama), Dylan Morris (Kiama) and Juvilee Samiu (Kiama).
The match kicks-off at 10.45am on Saturday.
